We had the most amazing time staying at the Captain’s Lodge. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possible want, which meant cooking big meals was a joy. The downstairs layout was awesome for big groups. Some could sit at the large dining table, whilst others could join in socialising on the couches.
We had a group of 7 and all were more than happy with their rooms and bathrooms. The garden was really cute with secure storage for bikes.
Location was just perfect. Very close to the beach, restaurants and shops.
Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the island.

We’ve just come home from a lovely week long stay at Captain’s Lodge.
We chose CL after searching similar properties across the Isle of Wight but this one ticked every box. We weren’t keen on Sandown as a resort overall but nowhere is more than a 45 minute drive so we didn’t mind. Wherever we had situated ourselves we would have been driving round. The location of the CL is great as it’s just a two minute walk to the front. There is a paper shop and grocery store nearby. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and the house itself was equipped with everything we needed. The beds were really comfortable, towels and bedding were also high quality. Good showers and bathroom facilities. Fully enclosed garden too as we had our small dog with us. All in all perfect for our week away.

We had a great holiday, the house is very well positioned and very well stocked with crockery,cutlery, glasses and pans.
The bed linens and towels were fab, very fresh and soft. The owners were very prompt to respond to any queries/problems. There were lots of useful extras and a welcome pack of milk, tea, coffee etc. A great family holiday home.

We had a fantastic time at Captain’s lodge during our half term holiday at the beginning of June.
It was our first time on the Isle of Wight and we loved it. It is beautiful and there is lots to do. Sandown is an ideal location to visit the island. The house is lovely, 5 min from the beach and shops, very comfortable beds, very well furnished and lovely back garden.

Captains Lodge is an excellent choice.
The property is right in the heart of Sandown which is a lovely little town. The decor is very fresh and perfectly tuned to the style of the house and creates a great atmosphere for a holiday. Everything was spotless and the layout of the rooms across the two floors was great for a family. The garden decked area was a sun trap and beautifully decorated. TV and wifi were more than was expected with excellent large Sony screen in the lounge and great tv's in two of the large double bedrooms. Brand new Hairdryer delivered within 24 hours by Amazon after quick email to owners after we discovered the very minor omission (both females in the party highly delighted :-) All in all great value will definitely want to stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Captains Lodge.
The beds are huge and very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and we enjoyed eating lunch in the sunny garden. The internet is excellent as we were working some days. I would highly reccommend the property, great location for town, shops and buses if you do not have a car. The owner James was very helpful and easy to contact with any questions. Thanks for a lovely stay.
