Captain’s Lodge is just 250m from Sandown's glorious sandy beaches. The esplanade has traditional seaside cafes, souvenir and beach shops.

The High Street has a selection of arty and tourist style shops along with major supermarket chains, pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Within 5 a minute walk towards Shanklin you will find Sandown Pier, with indoor golf, bowling, dodgems, a café and numerous other facilities; there's plenty for the whole family.

Heading towards Yaverland you will find Sandham Gardens, Dinosaur Isle, Wildheart Animal Sanctuary, and Culver Downs.

Sandown train station is a 10 minute walk away and the line runs from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin.

For the more energetic there is a 2 mile walk to Shanklin beach along the seafront or explore the Red Squirrel Trail.

Nothing is far away on the Isle of Wight and you’ll be spoilt for choice with activities available.
